Network Drive
« on: February 20, 2010, 05:35:28 PM »
I am new to the Ubuntu environment so please be gentle! I have a windows network up and running and have switched one PC to run Ubuntu. All the PCs on the network have a static IP address including a shared network drive. I am having trouble getting Ubuntu to recognise the shared network drive. I can perform a "ping" test on the network drive which gets a response but Ubuntu doesn't see the drive. Can someone please help with setting up static IP addresses in Ubuntu?

I am using windowsXP SP3. The links helped a little so thanks for the info. I have been doing a little more tinkering and it looks like I assigned my network drive static IP to Ubuntu. I have reassigned IP addresses so I'll see how it goes.
