Are there like snapshot programs like Comodo Time Machine for Linux?

I'm a new linux user and I want to know if there are any snapshot programs to take settings of Linux such as Desktop prefernce and font size?  I don't want to backup third party programs, just the settings customized on Linux.  I want to take constant snapshots at intervals and store them in a folder like Comodo Time Machine does.
