Remote Desktop BEFORE login to Gnome
« on: March 04, 2010, 05:39:27 PM »
Hi all, Have used VNC to Remote Desktop to Ubuntu 9.10, no problem. But in order to support a remote machine we really need the ability to login after a Restart (i.e. before a user has logged into the system, the way Logmein works in Windows). Does anyone know of an application which will allow this to be done?

Thanks!

Kevin.

I am sure that you can configure VNC to work when linux restarts, you need to alter a few settings..

I think that this may offer some leads ?

I agree that VNC could be configured to do this. I use this on my macs to screen share before login. This site has a little tutorial that should help.
