Website or browser problem
« on: May 13, 2010, 01:43:42 AM »
I have been experiencing crashes to so far only Ubuntugeek.com using Google Chrome.  Flash websites on Chrome are fine.   My firefox crashes on all flash sites.  so is it a browser or website issue?

Google Chrome is 5.0.375.38 beta
Firefox is 3.6.4 Lorentz
My Sun Java is 6.20
Ubuntu 10.04 upgrade from Karmic

Firefox will not work on any site with flash.   Google works on everything except ubuntugeeks.com, and this just happened recently.   I do not think anything has changed recently.

My last attempt, I did the following:
sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-installer

sudo apt-get clean

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer

FYI: I have 32bit.   I have been using Ubuntu since November, so I know enough to be a danger to myself.   I have a lot of learning to do yet.

hi

- remove flash
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-installer

- open firefox and type about:plugins  make sure that  flash is not on the list & the jva plugin is .

- close that tab go to : http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ and download Flash Player 10 for Linux (.deb)  save in Downloads not the temp Folder.

-then close firefox run the installer

hope it helps
