Hi Speedy,

I know your problem, been there done that. I will assume you know as much as I knew when I started.

You will need to write just 3 lines in the terminal; here I will start the lines you need with the prompt $ so you just write what follows $, for your benefit, any comment I will start with # they are for clarification and you don't type.

# the first thing you need is to edit the sources.list file; the commad is

$gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

# that command will run gedit and open the file sources .list that resides in /etc/apt/
# gedit will open in different window so you go to the editor window, add the line
deb http://packages.geekbox.org/ karmic main

# once you add the line, you save the file, close the editor, and return to the terminal
# when you are back at the terminal you have to update your source list and then you have # to install enna. You will use the following two command lines

$sudo apt-get update

$sudo apt-get install enna

# That should do it for you.

Good luck and happy Ubuntuing

Thanks so much for the speedy response.

When I tried to save it in the source I can't this comes up "Could not save the file /etc/apt/sources.list. You do not have the permissions necessary to save the file. Please check that you typed the location correctly and try again." Any other idea why that is?

Quote
$ sudo apt-get update
E: Type 'sudo' is not known on line 54 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
davidvargas@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install enna
E: Type 'sudo' is not known on line 54 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
E: The list of sources could not be read.

Looks that somehow you wrote a line into sources.list that has the word sudo on it.
I have my hunch that you wrote one of the commands you should have typed in the terminal into the file.

Edit the file again and look for the line that has sudo (it should be line 54) once you find it, remove it.

Once you remove the line save the file.

Try again the last two commands in my previous message to complete the installation

Do I do this part in the terminal or source list?

Quote
# that command will run gedit and open the file sources .list that resides in /etc/apt/
# gedit will open in different window so you go to the editor window, add the line
deb http://packages.geekbox.org/ karmic main

Agian thanks and sorry for being a dumbass

Speedy,

The problem is that I misspelled part of the site name in the line you must add to sources.list

The line should read:

deb http://packages.geexbox.org/ karmic main

Please fix that line in the file and you should be OK

Sorry for the typo
