Can not open files with Thunar on Xubuntu amd64
« on: July 10, 2010, 02:57:26 AM »
Hello everybody.

I have just installed Xubuntu 10.4 amd64 version on my laptop. Looks nice boots quick, but I have a great problem with file manager. Thunar does not open folders! I can just list the active window and click on the left side, but I can not go into any folder or open files.

An other problem : I can not operate i.e. modify or open (directly through some applications, and through Thunar) files on the manually mounted partitions (FAT32), and on the external hard drives (manually or automatically mounted) - FAT32 and NTFS.

Please help me with this. I really need a file manager, and possibility to open files to use the system.

Hi, I fixed this problem with 1) update; 2) /usr/sbin/hald in /etc/tc.local.

Now Thunar works pretty well, and Xubuntu also mount devices automatically.
Xubunt works quit fine, but the sound level is soooooo low.
