package must install for use the audio
and battery management?

I am a newbie myself, i use as best i can, i completely use Ubuntu linux and enjoy it.  I have been using Ubuntu Gnome and now on my spare HDD i am trying out Lubuntu on my laptop, i say because unless i am missing the question, on the panel the volume control is there and as for the battery, until i unplug, the icon for power management doesn't show, but it is there.  So more info to our more experienced community would help you further.
