DVD-Slideshow Segmentation Fault Issue (FFMPEG Crash)

I have another issue that I placed on UbuntuForums.Org.

For quite some time, I've been using dvd-slideshow to turn image files into video clips, and at one time it always worked.

But now, it seems that dvd-slideshow is no longer working as it should. I contacted the program's creator, Scott Dylewski, about the problem, sending him some documentation. His analysis is that the ffmpeg program has crashed for an unknown reason.

I sent him a copy of the output .log file, but I also wanted to see if anyone here as well as UbuntuForums.Org had any ideas. To that end, I am including the log file and documentation of an attempt to use dvd-slideshow.

I am using the current version of dvd-slideshow, which is 0.8.4.
