Unblock UBS ports

I need help - my company has blocked writing to the UBS ports to thumb drives and other drives.  I need to remove many personal files that are too big to e-mail like TV shows and such.  I downloaded Ubantu in the hope it could bypass the intel UBS port security on my Win 7 machine.  The install was great but I could not open the UBS ports as I hoped.   I find it curious that the security nuts feel they need to protect us this way and resent this blocking of my freedom.  I hate to say thanks in advance - but I need help in getting my files off this machine.
