Inbuilt tata photon modem not connecting

Hello

I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my net book. My netbook is equipped with an inbuilt 3G modem (Qualcomm's). When I tried to connect to internet via it I am not getting any success. Can anyone help me out.
