Build Compatibility
« on: September 16, 2012, 06:25:55 PM »

I have decided to make the switch from Windoze (spelling mistake intended) to Ubuntu after hearing good things about the OS from friends and also the openness of it.

I just have some questions about compatibility. I have tried searching to see if drivers exist for my hardware but can't seem to find them.

What I'm planning on purchasing:

mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H Motherboard (
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K
GPU: MSI Radeon HD7770 Power Edition 1GB OC (I only really play WoW, I have experience with Wine so it's all good).
RAM: G.Skill Ares F3-1600C9D-8GAO 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
CPU cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler
Case: Guardian 921 RB

What I want to know is if these are compatible with Linux Ubuntu, I've tried searching around but can't find any answers. Also is there a site where I can obtain Linux drivers for these components?

I know this is a tough ask and I thank you soooo much for your time.  :)
