Internet Connection Problem
« on: October 14, 2012, 08:46:41 PM »
Hi all,

I have a problem that I do not know how to investigate more. I am currently running ubuntu 12.04 since last July with no network problems at all, both wireless and LAN. About a week or more ago, my internet connection started to stop and resume randomly. Sometimes the connection also became really slow. I thought it was a problem with my provider but none of my other devices connected to the same network had this issue.

Then about three days ago, it starting acting differently. Now when it stops, it stays that way. When I disable networking in the network manager and enable it again, it gets back to working just fine. Sometimes instead of stopping, it gets real slow, and then doing the same process of disabling and enabling networking gets it back to normal. The problem occurs randomly and I do not know what to do to figure out what could be the source. I tried connecting to my router with wired and wireless connections and the problem occurs on both.

I am using ubuntu 12.04 on an hp dv6 laptop.

Thank you.
