Hi fellow Ubuntu/ Linux users.
I have always liked Ubuntu, prefer it much more that Windows. Although one thing has always been bugging me
ever since I started using Ubuntu, and that for me was in the v9.10 days.
Anyway to cut to the chase, I have a sony vaio VGN-FE31Z (to many of you that means nothing) Running Ubuntu 12.04,
it has a built in webcam, that due to whatever issue, is absolutely useless, although works perfectly on Windows.

Now I know there is a way it can work as I had it working once upon a time on v10.10 although the post
I read has probably been lost in a labyrinth of threads, never to be found again.
Cheese shows me green then crashes, Camorama, has a strip at the top that works the rest is green,
obviously Skype as always doesn't show anything.
So hopefully someone can help me complete this system.
Thanks all.
