Installed Openoffice now not sure where executable resides?

I have used this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m47GLeH6qYo. I have the latest Ubuntu on an HP 210 mini laptop. I can now find the program OK and it seems to start OK. My queries are though:

1. Can I delete now all the files I downloaded which are in my Downloads folder?
2. Where is the executable now (still in the Downloads folder)?
3. How do I pin the program to the shortcuts on the left of my screen to start it.
