Hello All... I am unsure if this is the correct forum for this question, but here goes. As I am sure more than a few have, I started using a type of linux as an alternative to windows. I am pretty well versed in windows so after seeing the endless bugs crashes and co$t i was fed up. I found Ubuntu to work the best with the machine i was using to learn linux. I do have a few problems i am unable as of yet solve.
1. Audio file conversion and editing.
2.encoding and burning dvds.
3. mp3 player synch.
I have several audio files in various formats that i wish to convert and re-sample as .mp3
There are several video files i want to encode on a dvd, in their native formats without compression they will not fit and of course need to play on stand alone players .
lastly i have a ZEN i wish to synch but cannot seem to get it to work.
I appreciate any insights anyone can provide.
out side of the issues I have stated I have found karmic to be all i could have asked for. this machine has been up for 6 weeks and no problems. try that in any release of windows.
