Title: Admin Password Retrieve
Post by: M3talMan on December 11, 2012, 09:59:14 PM
I will start by saying I have no clue if anyone here will be able to help me. Or even if someone knows they will tell me. This is the fist forum site I have tried for this.

I have an individual (as we shall call this person) in my household that is hiding information from me on a laptop that is booted with Ubuntu.  I would like to gain access to the individual's admin account so I can gather the information I am seeking. I already know how to reset the Admin password using GRUB at start up.  The trouble with that, is that the individual will know that I have accessed the account.  I am looking for a way into the Admin account without the individual knowing. Is there a way.

I will state that I plan on only using the information (if any) gained in the thread to do only this and nothing more.
If needed to I can use the desktop in typing this on to crack the password.
